Joe Strummer

De son vrai nom John Graham Mellor né le le 21 août 1952 à Ankara.

leader de The Clash de 1976 à 1985.

1986 il travaille sur "Love Kills et Dum Dum Club" pour le film "Sid et Nancy".

1987 il enregistre la B.Odu film Walker.

1989 il joue dans le film Mistery train de Jim Jarmusch le role de "Evis".

Il compose l'album "Earthquake Weather". 

1990 il joue le role d'un guitariste dans le film de Aki Kaurimäski "j'ai engagé un tueur".

1991 il remplace Shane McGowan comme chanteur des Pogues pour une tournée, il produit ainsi l'album des Pogues "Hell's Ditch".

1997 "Doctor Chance" film de F.J Ossang , il tient le role d'un aviateur nommé Vince Taylor.

1999 avec Les Mescaleros il sort l'album "rock art and the X-Ray Style".

2001 sort l'album "Rock A Gogo".

le 15 novembre 2002 lors du concert de soutien aux pompiers en grêve à londres, Mick jones rejoint Joe sur scène pour la première fois depuis le départ de ce dernier de The Clash.

22 novembre 2002 dernier concert au Liverpool academy.

Joe Strummer meurt le le 22 décembre 2002 dans sa maison de Broomfield, d'une cardiopathie cogénitale.

21 octobre 2003 l'album "Steetcore" à titre posthume.
